It's gonna become one lonely film...

yes, that's right, this shoot will be on it's own, aw poor thing :( but do not fear, as it is purely just for the 'processes and techiniques' box to be ticked. As Adrian mentioned it would be useful to include at least one black and white film roll within my FMP. I actually thoroughly enjoyed it, although the happenings in the darkroom were very clumsy and I was certain you could hear me from outside a mile off, it is possible the people in CAD heard it. Oh well, it's a good job I'm not studying photograohy at university then isn't it ?! :p

Anyway, back to the real reason why I'm blogging this glorious blog on the glorious web. Just to document this shoot, four prints at the top there just for show. You like?

Final Shoot Confusion !!!

After finally managing to brave the weather and complete one of my final shoots on tuesday, I managed to capture the sunny parts of the day for my photos to be of some soft of value :/ Just abit unsure on the outcome so far, so if you could leave me some constructive comments, I'd be very greatful :)

These shots make up for the season of Autumn - I've selected the best shots from a total of an inital 73...

Just some opinions please, are these strong enough to pass them off for final photos?
Just wondering if it's best to re-do and make the makeup/styling a much more sharper and prominent factor?

Just a quickie

More experimentation with face/body paints... comments would be nice :)
Please note: I will combine these images with my location shots in my final shoots.

On the hunt for location scenes

I realised this weekt hat I have become very very critical of my work now, which I think is pretty bad considering everything is going smoothly according to my interim assessment. There's critical and there's too much of critical comments, and I think I'm crossing the fine line between the two, oh dear !! Gotta stay focussed and believe in myself from now on I think !!
*breathes*
Okay, now that worry is over :D I will bring in my location shots I did today, which I planned out prior to capture any locations I found interesting for placing my subject in.
Things I was looking for:
Interesting composition
Range of tree height and type
Angles
Open Spaces
Closed in spaces.

I think I have captured a wide range of everything mentioned above in this shoot.
I plan to print out the best scenes and sketch out my models on top of them to get a view of what I need to aim for when I am including my model in the final shoots.

Final Shoot Planning !!

Okay, it's week 4 and I realise I haven't posted a blog for too long !! (another long time, no blog situation unfortunately),
But the reason for that is I've been indulging in sketchbook mayhem and getting it bulked up (it's already falling apart because of my abuse). I started to plan out the shoots I have left to do, including those of finals. I'm really excited about the outcomes, I have a strong vivid image in my head for each season and what it involves. I have made a rough plan of each element I am to take into consideration...

POSSIBLE SHOTS:
Filtering sun brust through trees?
Falling on or around a bench?
Always include model incorporation in shot.
Using flash: Makes image lighter - good for brighter/cooler coloured seasons??
Without flash: Warms tones??

LIGHTING:
Consider dramaticism/Extra mood provoking colours??
Additional lights/filters??
Dark lighting against light?

COMPOSITION:
Angles - create variety (angle the model different/equal to surroundings to ensure bond of model to nature)
Consider how much of model to include - maybe only use half of her? full body shot? close up?
Is model sitting/standing/edgy pose/natural and feminine pose?

MODEL ACTION:
Posing Possibles: Slanting body frame alongside angled shot of trees (creates instant relationship?) feminine posing/natural stance?
Eyes peeping through hair, close up
Dominant stances for edgier, 'cold' winter stern look (hands on hips, attitude...)
Delicate hands to contrast with strong pose (breaks mood up)

STYLING:
Makeup/face paints to cover face, and body?
Evoking season to the maximum
Hair design differs for each season
Clothing - minimal? Layers? Consider colours? Keep relevance to season.

Aims for this week:
Create colour palettes for each season to include in final shoots.
Experiment with lighting on computer software to create coloured filters in post-production.
Create further makeup/styling tests to ensure details are found accurately.
Carry out several shoots to put my designs from paper into practice.
Sketch out model poses onto prints of location shots.

Long time, No blog :(

yes i know ... OOPS!! Sorry this hasn't seen an update, I've been preparing for various things like my solent portfolio viewing, which was success!! all the work paid off and I almost cried haha!!! My heart was set on that since day one and I'm never going back. Scary day though, confusing tutors too!!! They're giving me a summer project after I sort finance and eveyrthing out. Great, extra work, gonna have to get used to it !!
Anyway, where was I... after shooting my first 'technique' shoot if you want to call it that, I produced several pictures I was fond of, edited and made the colours more vivid and striking. Projection was so much fun, even if my model (Holly love ya) refuted the objective far too often, she loved it really. She was a brill model, as she had that natural look I needed as I was just looking to portray the nature falling on the model and being a part of her and having the picture do the justice without having to glam up the model. However, after looking at the work of richard warren (google image him :D) i want to edit the background completely out so that the model shows the image on her body shape entirely. I think this creates a look that envisages material upon her skin, kinda cool. What you think??

A few of the chosen ones are above ^^
Note: This was merely just an experiment, they're not my finals.
I'm planning to shoot my four final shoots within the easter holidays, and as we're almost a week gone by I really should get planning !! So you could say I'm working in reverse for the last half of the 8 weeks... I will shoot some other technique shoots after I create my final set of images. I really want to spend more time on the post production of these, ensuring every last detail is accomplished to it's highest possible standard.

Aim for next few days: Annotate shoot and findings, plan and sketch shoot possibilities.
